Workshops focused on hands-on skill-sharing and DIY media-making are perennial favorites at the Allied Media Conference. “Old Gold: Do-it-yourself Music Production” a popular session at AMC2015, introduced free and inexpensive tools to teach the basics of contemporary songwriting and electronic music production.
In this blog post we look at two sessions which you named as favorites in the AMC2015 feedback survey. “Speculative Cities: Becoming Place” and “The Anti Eviction Mapping Project” explored the topic of gentrification and displacement through collaborative visioning and data mapping.

We join our wider community in mourning the passing of Ron Scott, spokesperson for the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality and a founding member of the Detroit Chapter of the Black Panther Party. Ron was a friend, a mentor, and a frequent participant in the AMC.
