This past June, the Knight Foundation announced 70 finalists in the Knight Arts Challenge Detroit. The projects, which were selected from 1000+ submissions, range from a storytelling project by Iraqi women refugees, to preserving hip-hop culture through an annual “Dilla Youth Day.” While the winners won’t be announced until October, starting this week you can help choose who wins the Knight Arts People’s Choice award.
Four finalists have been announced in the People’s Choice award category, where the public can vote to select a winner. The People’s Choice finalists include Detroit Youth Volume, Hamtramck Free School, Grace in Action and Heritage Works. All four of the finalists are part of the AMP network, whether through our sponsored projects program or the Allied Media Conference.
These projects are a unique blend of art, media and social change, and while you can only vote once, we encourage you to reach out to friends and family, community members, and your extended social networks to get as many votes in as possible. Each of these projects deserves our support!
