UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE presents D3 (live)
D3 is a combination of Underground Resistance's Timeline and Mark Flash. The two Timeline members are Jon Dixon & DeSean Jones (also of Galaxy 2 Galaxy). Combining the DJ and percussion skills of Mark Flash while Jon jams over the top with keys and DeSean adding live with sax the trio give a raw funk edge to many classics from the 'D' and beyond.
Rising like the sun and shining just as bright, Lola Valley is the dawn of an original sound. Widely respected in the industry, Detroit is known for producing cutting-edge talent and top-notch musicianship. With its mix of dirty funk, soulful R&B, clever hip-hop, and melodic alternative rock, Lola Valley lives up to that reputation and reminds us why Detroit has earned the name Motown. Lola Valley is a colorful group of diverse, multi-talented women coming together to produce a rainbow of sound. Drawing from a wide variety of influences such as Lauryn Hill, Billie Holiday, Parliament, Frank Zappa, Outkast, TOOL, and Metallica, these ladies make beautiful music rooted in individuality. Each member contributes her unique element to the sound. Lola Valley blends these energies and influences, transcending age, race, and genres to create an entirely new aural experience for the 21st century. Aggressive vocals mixed with insightful lyrics attack your consciousness, touching on all subjects from the political to the struggles and joys of all types of relationships. Backed by organic music that helps drive the emotion home, no matter who you are, Lola Valley is playing your song... With their distintive hooks, eclectic look, uncompromising musicianship, unique songwriting, and compelling live show, Lola Valley ignites a stage.
Artists take on pseudonyms for a multitude of reasons, but in Zach Saginaw's case, those reasons run deeper than most. Zach records under the name Shigeto. It's his middle name; it's also his grandfather's name, a tribute to the Japanese branch of Zach's family tree. Shigeto also means "to grow bigger"—appropriate, given Zach's premature birth-weight of less than a pound. Today, Shigeto stands for Zach's vividly beautiful electronic music. Beat-driven but given to richly textured sound design, rhythmically fractured but melodically sumptuous, Shigeto's music is a bridge between the past and present, bringing the artist face to face with a creative legacy that spans decades. Having first emerged on the Wild Oats released Laygo My Faygo as part of NSNT PRJCT alongside Kyle Hall in 2010, Manuel Gonzales has found his own voice over the past twelve months. Resurfacing under the M GUN banner, Gonzales made an intensely rewarding full debut on Hall's label with the cavernous deconstruction of techno that was Harmnear, and has subsequently struck alliances with some of the UK's more interesting labels. Released as 2012 drew to a close, The Upstairs Apt EP for Semtek's Don't Be Afraid was equally a statement of the label's intent to escape the mundane trappings of many a current UK house operation and another compelling display of Gonzales' obvious talent. A further mark of the Detroit-based producer's ascendancy arrives with The Near Future EP on Will Bankhead's The Trilogy Tapes label, turning out twenty minutes of wayward sonics that build upon his burgeoning reputation as much more than a one-dimensional house and techno producer.
Little Animal is an electronic duo from Detroit, MI consisting of Singer/ Creature Whisperer Rachelle Baker and Producer/ Sound Wizard Nick Morrow. Together, they make sexy music for ghosts and, occasionally, humans to dance to
