Detroit Future Media 2013 begins!
This will be the third round of Detroit Future Media. In this cycle, our goal is to deepen the relationships and skills that have grown through the Detroit Future networks over the past two years.
Here's a video about it!
DFM3 is an intensive 20-week training program designed for those that are 16 or older, have a basic understanding of computers and passionate about positively transforming Detroit.
Participants will receive an orientation to media-based community organizing and then apply to one of four focus areas: Education, Entrepreneurship, Transformative Art Practices, or Digital Stewardship.
We are also excited to introduce five new workshops and instructors to the curriculum: Audio Podcasting, Beatmaking, Wearable Electronics, Digital Photography, and 3D Video!
Participants will be required to complete a media-based organizing project of their choice, that advances their vision for the future of Detroit. Learn more about this year’s program.
Applications will be accepted through
December 1 December 9. Apply here: media.detroitfuture.org/apply-now
There will be an info session on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Allied Media Projects, 4126 Third St, Detroit. We encourage all DFM alumni and everyone in the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition network to attend to learn more about the upcoming year, to find project collaborators and to see Detroit Future friends.
