AMP Blog: Media Based Organizing
The glue that holds the incredibly diverse content of the Allied Media Conference together is media-based organizing. Media-based organizing is any collaborative process that uses media, art, or technology to address the roots of problems and advances holistic solutions towards a more just and creative world.
On Saturday Dec. 1, 2012 the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition (DDJC) and Detroit Future programs will celebrate two years of building a digital justice movement in Detroit. The Detroit Future celebration will mark the close of our Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) grant and will include a community report-back on how these federal funds were spent to benefit Detroit.
Allied Media Projects is wrapping-up of the apprenticeship component of our Detroit Future Media (DFM) training program. The DFM Apprenticeship Program is a three-month continued learning experience for graduates of the Detroit Future Media workshops that began in June.
Come by Allied Media Projects this Saturday, June 9, to celebrate Detroit Future Media and Detroit Future Schools participants. There will be a showcase and gallery of major media projects created over the last year. Come by and support your favorite DF artist!
