12 Recommendations for Detroit Funders

Allied Media Projects and Detroit People’s Platform are excited to present “12 Recommendations for Detroit Funders,” a set of guidelines for how local foundations can best support transformative community organizing in Detroit. These recommendations are a working draft, which we expect will evolve through ongoing feedback.

Jenny Lee to present AMP principles at Council of Michigan Foundations - "Passing the Leadership Baton" (March 25)

Jenny Lee, Executive Director of Allied Media Projects, will present at the closing plenary of the "Passing the Leadership Baton" workshop presented by the Council of Michigan Foundations. Jenny will be presenting alongside Jenenne Whitfield of The Heidelberg Project.

The event is Tuesday, March 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center of Wayne State University in Detroit.

Comment on AMP's proposals to the Knight News Challenge

Allied Media Projects is involved in four proposals that have been submitted for consideration to the Knight News Challenge. The News Challenge called for ideas that answer the question "How can we strengthen the Internet for free expression and innovation?" We responded with project proposals on community-based technology education, data visualization, and participatory action research.
