Welcome DFM Class of 2013!
Detroit Future Media, a program offered by Allied Media Projects, has launched it's third year of media-based community organizing workshops in Detroit. Fifty-five participants were selected out of dozens of applications to develop Major Media Projects that will investigate a problem or set of problems, explore holistic solutions and foster transformative relationships in the process.
Communication is a fundamental human right. The Digital Stewards Program is an effort to actualize that right at the neighborhood-level in Detroit. This 10-week training, already underway, prepares teams of community organizers, people with construction skills and techies to design and deploy communications infrastructure with a commitment to the Detroit Digital Justice Principles.
