The Allied Media Conference is right in the mix – serving as a hub for people and ideas that are at the forefront of media-based organizing, art, technology, community activism and social change. As we begin organizing our 19th annual Allied Media Conference in Detroit, we are excited to continue our growth and evolution.
Allied Media Projects and Talking Dolls are excited to present Complex Movements’ Beware of the Dandelions in Detroit, October 6-31. Beware of the Dandelions is a mobile art installation that functions as a performance, workshop space, and visual arts exhibition.
Complex Movements is a Detroit-based artist collective that includes Wesley Taylor, Waajeed, Invincible/ill, Carlos "L05" Garcia, and producer Sage Crump. Their current project, “Beware of the Dandelions,” will return to Dallas for a second time this fall, November 20-22 and December 3-5.
Complex Movements is investigating the relationship between complex science and social justice movements in their interactive performance "Beware of the Dandelions." From April 3rd through April 6th, Complex Movements will be in residency at the Anacostia Arts Center as part of One Mic: Hip Hop Culture Worldwide. People are invited to work closely with the team to test low and high tech gaming scenarios and create a greater understanding of the underlying social justice principles embedded in "Beware of the Dandelions" through a series of workshops and intense collaborative work sessions.
