Generating community resources
How can we more boldly and creatively fund and resource movements for the long haul? The Reimagining Movement Resource Strategies Network Gathering will examine new and emerging models for generating community resources, such as grassroots fundraising, giving circles, alternative economies, and resource mapping. Through multimedia storytelling, hands-on activities, participatory dialogue, and facilitated strategy sessions, participants will gain new frameworks, collaborators, models, and tools for generating community resources to bring back to local teams or networks.
Participants will also gain an understanding of their roles as “resource organizers” in their communities, joining a growing network of fundraisers, movement builders, organizers, and radical philanthropists who are committed to organizing resources (money, time, space, skills, equipment, etc.) for communities on the frontlines of struggles for justice and equity.
Coordinators of this network gathering are Crystal Middlestadt, Kendra Hicks, and Tanya Mote.
Call for Participation
Are you passionate about finding ways to more boldly and creatively fund and resource movements for the long haul? Are you a movement leader, fundraiser or community organizer who is working to move money and other resources to the frontlines of struggles for justice and equity? Do you have ideas for creative models or strategies to generate income and resources for social justice movements that you are looking to pilot or experiment with fellow AMC collaborators?
In the Reimagining Movement Resource Strategies network gathering, we invite collaboration across movements with a focus on the shared needs we have to resource our work and our communities. We are looking for participants who are eager to collaborate beyond the AMC and who have some level of experience with fundraising, resource organizing, and/or development of alternative economic models for social justice movements.
We encourage Reimagining Movement Resource Strategies participants to strategize and to continue the conversation by submitting sessions and mealtime meet ups in conjunction with the Resourcing & Sustaining Our Movements track at the AMC.
